Our Mission

The mission of the Animal Foundation of Great Falls is fostering a caring community for animals by providing shelter, advancing animal welfare, and promoting the bond between animals and humans through innovative programs, education and service.

Providing Shelter

The dream is becoming reality! The Margaret J. Maclean Animal Welfare Center is now under construction. Groundbreaking occurred on October 20, 2010. We are building in phases and still raising funds to complete this much-needed community facility. Learn more about the center and how you can help.

Advancing Animal Welfare

Spay of the Falls, a committee of the Animal Foundation, provides spay/neuter clinics twice per year. Free for low-income residents of Cascade County, over 4,700 dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered since 2006, preventing countless unwanted litters and helping to reduce instances of animal abandonment and neglect.

We now have limited grant funds available for use between clinics.

Promoting the Bond between Animals and Humans

The Pacific Steel and Recycling Trailside Dog Park has been open for over a year, making local canines and their human companions ecstatic! Developed and maintained by the Animal Foundation in partnership with the City of Great Falls, the park is located at 800 River Drive North and is open daylight to dusk.

We are currently seeking applicants for the Purple Paw, our award for heroic companion animals. If you or someone you know has an extraordinary story, please email us and be sure to include your contact information. The award will be bestowed on one outstanding animal at the Fur Ball in April.

While the center is being built, we are developing new programs to provide additional needed services to you – our community, and animals in need.
