Strut Your Mutt

September 18, 2011 was windy but wonderful at our second annual Strut Your Mutt. The day was a huge success, with nearly double the number of participants compared to our inaugural event. Central Avenue in front of the Civic Center was packed at the start of the parade with 223 dogs and their humans registered. This year, the Catnippers Team led the parade, since they were the high fundraisers in 2010.
The Pet Lovers Market and Food Fair expanded this year, and we appreciate the vendors who added so much to the event by their presence.
Agility demonstrations, a doggie fashion show, and canine contests all helped to make this a fun and entertaining event.
Over $10,000 was raised to help animals in need!
Please plan to join your fellow animal lovers at the third annual Strut Your Mutt on Thursday evening, September 20, 2012 from 5 to 8 pm. Registration is $20 in advance; $25 the day of the event. You can form a team of fundraisers or just come with your pet to enjoy the parade and entertainment. If you cannot attend, register as a Lazy Dog or CatNapper to support the cause!
Mayor Mike Winters, with his beautiful Golden Retriever Cookie, acted as grand poo-bah once again.
