The Fur Ball
One of the premier fundraising events in North Central Montana is the Fur Ball. The fun begins with “Yappy Hour” and listening to the live music of Society Swing. Join us for a special, sit-down dinner and an incredible array of live and silent auction items!
A highlight of the evening is the Purple Paw Award. It is given to a pet who has made an outstanding contribution to mankind through either a heroic act or other demonstration of the strong bond between humans and animals. Past winners included a hospital therapy dog, a K-9 Dutch Shepherd police dog, a Katrina survivor, an abused but rescued three-legged cat, and a cat who alerted her family to a dangerous natural gas leak.
One of the most memorable items at a Fur Ball was a FAO Schwartz Bengal Tiger. The winning bid was $1,600 and the new owner graciously donated the tiger to the Sletten Cancer Institute. It now prowls the “Kids’ Korner” of the cancer resource center.
