The Margaret J. Maclean Animal Welfare Center continues to take shape! Phase Two construction is underway and will be finished by summer 2012. This includes the entire building thermal envelope - walls, roof, mechanical room, windows, and doors. We are grateful to Sletten Construction, general contractor, and phase two subcontractors:
Anderson Glass, AT Klemens, Cascade Electric, Cooper Construction, Doors & Hardware Unlimited, JK Fabrication, Klinefelter Insulation, Premier SIPS, Tri-County Mechanical, and WMK.
Phase Three includes completion of everything necessary to open the facility to the public. This means interior construction of animal housing areas, adoption-specific areas, administrative spaces, parking lots, driveway and landscaping (with the exclusion of the memorial gardens) will be completed in Phase Three. It is possible that the center could open as early as 2013.
Interior construction of the training/exercise area, education room, incoming animal areas, and all remaining interior spaces will be completed in Phase Four. And finally, project completion will occur with the development of the memorial garden during Phase Five.
The timeline for overall completion depends on actual costs incurred and our fundraising results. We need your continued support and look forward to working with you to open the doors. (Click here to read more.) See more construction photographs on our Facebook page.
