Animal Foundation of Great Falls - Fostering a caring community for animals

The Animal Foundation

The Animal Foundation of Great Falls is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that works to foster a caring community for animals by providing shelter, advancing their welfare and promoting the bond between animals and humans through innovative programs, education and service.

The Animal Foundation is dedicated to the construction of a new animal shelter in Great Falls. The Margaret J Maclean Animal Shelter will be a replacement for the current animal shelter which is over 35 years old and in poor condition.

We have raised over $1.5 million toward a new shelter. A new drawing of the Margaret J Maclean Animal Shelter design has been posted and floor plans will be coming soon. Please read about this incredible project and give us a helping hand!

We have completed construction of the Pacific Steel and Recycling Trailside Dog Park. A dog park is a place where dogs can safely run and play "off leash" in a large fenced area. The park covers over three acres and includes areas for small and large dogs as well as agility equipment and plenty of fire hydrants.

The Foundation is also the home of Spay of the Falls which operates free spay and neuter clinics to low-income residents of Cascade County. Since 2006, the free clinics have spayed or neutered over 3,100 pets, preventing countless unwanted litters and helping to reduce instances of animal abandonment and neglect.

The Foundation is supported by the generosity of the Great Falls community. Help us build a new shelter and continue to help make Great Falls into a caring community for animals. If you would like to support our work, you can donate online, email us, or contact us at (406) 727-5229.
